PM Modi vows to elevate Swachh Bharat initiative and marks 10 years of the mission by participating in a cleanliness campaign.

At the ‘Swachhata Hi Seva 2024’ event at Vigyan Bhawan, the Prime Minister stated that everyone had turned the Swachh Bharat Mission into a people’s revolution.

At this important moment, cleanliness initiatives totaling Rs 10,000 crores have been launched. Water and sewage treatment facilities will be established in different cities as a part of Mission Amrut. Whether it is work associated with Namami Gange or the ‘Govardhan’ plant for generating biogas from waste, these efforts will elevate the Swacch Bharat Mission to greater levels.

The Swachh Bharat initiative is more than a mere hygiene drive; it is transitioning into a route towards greater economic success. Building individual bathrooms in schools has decreased the number of girls leaving school. PM Modi stated that Swachh Bharat is the biggest and most effective movement by the public with widespread involvement and leadership from the people in this era.

The President, Vice President, ex-President, and ex-Vice President all took part in and made contributions to ‘Swachhata Hi Seva’. All state chief ministers and public officials also participated in the cleanliness campaign. During the 15 days of ‘seva pakhwada’, over 27 lakh events took place, with participation from more than 28 crore individuals,” he stated.

In a millennium, when research is done on India in the 21st century, Swachh Bharat Abhiyaan will be a notable memory. He stated that Swachh Bharat is the largest and most successful people’s resolution in the world, led and joined by people, in this century.

Earlier today, the Prime Minister took to Twitter to give his regards to Pujya Bapu on his birthday on behalf of all citizens.

A rough Hindi translation of his post indicated that his life and principles centered on truth, harmony, and equality will forever serve as a source of inspiration for his fellow citizens.

PM Modi also honored India’s second Prime Minister Lal Bahadur Shastri, who was born on the same day.
