Benjamin Netanyahu, the Israeli prime minister, and PM Modi discussed the Middle East situation on Monday.

“Spoke to Prime Minister @netanyahu about recent developments in West Asia. Terrorism has no place in our world. It is crucial to prevent regional escalation and ensure the safe release of all hostages. India is committed to supporting efforts for an early restoration of peace and stability,” PM Modi wrote on X.

The discussion between the prime minister and Netanyahu takes place in the midst of the Middle East’s growing crisis. Israel has been attacking Lebanon with missiles without stopping, and it has already taken out seven of Hezbollah’s senior leaders.

Israel has notified the US that it intends to conduct a limited ground action in Lebanon, according to a Washington Post story.

Israeli Defense Minister Yoav Gallant reportedly said to soldiers from the Golani Infantry Brigade and the 188 Armored Brigade on the northern frontier, “The elimination of Nasrallah is a very important step, but it is not everything,” according to an AP story. We will make use of every resource at our disposal.

Netanyahu said earlier in the day that Israel could reach anywhere in the Middle East, a statement that was aimed at Iran.

When Iran is “finally free,” which Netanyahu claimed will “come a lot sooner than people think,” Israel and Iran will live in peace.

“There is nowhere in the Middle East Israel cannot reach. There is nowhere we will not go to protect our people and protect our country,” the Israeli prime minister was cited by Reuters as saying.

According to Naim Qassem, the deputy head of Hezbollah, the fighters in the organization are prepared for any Israeli ground assault.

According to Reuters, Qassem stated, “We will face any possibility and we are ready if the Israelis decide to enter by land and the resistance forces are ready for a ground engagement.”

The death of Hassan Nasrallah and the assaults on the group’s communication systems, in addition to the killings of other senior commanders, deal Hezbollah its greatest setback since Iran founded it in 1982 to oppose Israel.
