Two individuals were detained by police on Thursday in connection with the monitoring of Congress leader and former minister Naseem Khan in Maharashtra. Mumbai Crime Branch revealed that Naseem Khan had been under surveillance for the last seven days.
On Wednesday, during the voting day, both individuals believed to be involved were trailing behind Congress leader Naseem Khan. In this scenario, it remains to be seen if Naseem Khan is being targeted by a gang following Baba Siddiqui.
In accordance with information from law enforcement, both individuals arrived in Mumbai on November 15. One of them inquired about the Congress leader to a Naseem Khan worker in Powai Hiranandani area. Following this, they both arrived at Naseem Khan’s office on Thursday afternoon, where one of them questioned Naseem Khan’s security personnel. He conveyed his wish to have a meeting with Naseem Khan. The police have taken both suspects into custody. One of them has a past involving criminal activities.
Sources reported that on Thursday, they both attempted to contact Naseem Khan in a way that seemed suspicious. Following that, his employees and security staff captured them and turned them in to the authorities. While interacting with Naseem Khan, the accused’s language further heightened suspicion and led to them being turned in to the authorities. Arman Malik, a resident of Meerut, is one of the individuals who have been detained by authorities.
Arman Malik has had an FIR filed against him under Section 325. This FIR concerning illegal weapons has been lodged in Meerut. The authorities found questionable messages on the suspect’s phone with an individual named Lokesh. Upon receiving suspicious messages from the accused’s phone, the Crime Branch inquired whether Naseem Khan is being targeted like Baba Siddiqui. The authorities are looking into the background of the individual.
Naseem Khan serves as the working president of Maharashtra Congress. In addition to serving as the ex-Home Minister of the state, he has managed various ministries. Simultaneously, Naseem Khan is presently running as a Congress candidate for the Chandivali assembly constituency.
This chair belongs to Naseem Khan as per tradition. He has emerged victorious from this place on numerous occasions. However, in 2019, he experienced defeat for the first time when he lost the election to Dilip Lande, a candidate from the Shiv Sena party. This time he is back in the race for the election.
Naseem Khan, originally from UP’s Ambedkar Nagar district, is considered one of Mumbai’s prominent leaders. So far, there has been no evidence of a direct connection in this case. Who was the one who sent Armaan in that situation, what was the purpose of his reconnaissance, and why didn’t he mention any tasks during their meeting? Is Naseem Khan being targeted by any gang like Baba Siddiqui? The authorities are examining every angle.
