Rahul Gandhi condemned BJP for misusing Baba Saheb's constitution, calling caste census Naxalite.

Ahead of the Maharashtra assembly elections, there has been an uproar concerning the remarks made by BJP leaders about Congress MP and Lok Sabha Leader of Opposition Rahul Gandhi waving Lal Kitab. Rahul Gandhi has responded to the comments made by BJP leaders and has strongly criticized them. On Thursday, Rahul Gandhi posted on social site X that the former Chief Minister of Maharashtra from BJP claimed that displaying Babasaheb’s constitution and advocating for a caste census constitutes a Naxalite notion!

He stated that this perspective of the BJP is an affront to the constitution’s creator and son of Maharashtra, Dr. Bhimrao Ambedkar. In the Lok Sabha elections, the citizens of Maharashtra stood up for the constitution and achieved a significant triumph for the Maha Vikas Aghadi.

Rahul Gandhi stated that the citizens of Maharashtra will not accept the disrespect shown to Babasaheb by the BJP – they will defend our Constitution by countering every assault on it with full vigor along with the Congress and the Mahavikas Aghadi, and all shameful BJP efforts will be unsuccessful – consider it assured, a caste census will certainly take place.

Former BJP leader Devendra Fadnavis claimed that Rahul Gandhi was holding a ‘Red Book’ during an election event in Nagpur, soliciting votes from ‘urban Naxalites and anarchists.’

In political contexts, the color red is frequently linked to Marxist or communist beliefs. Following the assault from Devendra Fadnavis and Shiv Sena figures, Jairam Ramesh criticized the BJP leaders. Now Rahul Gandhi has replied.

Deputy Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis wasn’t the sole critic of the red notebook. Parliamentary Affairs Minister Kiren Rijiju and BJP’s Maharashtra spokesperson Keshav Upadhyay similarly criticized the Congress. Rijiju charged the Congress with orchestrating a “fake drama” and asserted that the book Rahul Gandhi brandished at the Samvidhaan Samman Sammelan in Nagpur, which he later handed out to individuals, was merely a blank notebook crafted to resemble a copy of the Constitution.

The BJP’s Maharashtra unit released a video regarding this issue, stating that a red-bound notebook was handed out at Rahul Gandhi’s event. In the video, as the book opened, empty pages appeared inside it. Congress’s Vijay Wadettiwar later mentioned that every attendee received a notebook and a pen.
