There was a loud explosion in a firecracker shop in Abid, Hyderabad, which caused a fire to break out. The entire building was engulfed in a horrifying form of fire. Luckily, the individuals inside the building quickly fled when the explosion happened. Upon receiving the information, the police and fire brigade arrived at the scene and successfully extinguished the fire after approximately three hours of hard work. No casualties have been reported in the incident thus far. Nevertheless, efforts for providing assistance and saving individuals are continuing within the structure.
The situation occurred on Sunday evening in the late hours. Abid police reported that the incident took place at a firecracker store called Paras Fire Work Crackers situated at Hanuman Tekdi. This store is located in a heavily populated neighborhood. There has been a rise in the buying of firecrackers in this area prior to Diwali. There was also a large crowd at the store on Sunday night. At that moment, there was a blast in the store leading to a fire starting. Luckily, everyone inside and outside the store escaped and alerted the authorities.
Following that, the police and fire brigade arrived at the scene and commenced relief and rescue operations. As per the fire officials, the fire was so intense that entering the shop was challenging. In that scenario, the firefighters ascended the adjacent structures and commenced spraying pressurized water. When the heat decreased slightly, the firefighters outside the store went in and extinguished the fire. The fire department reported that with the assistance of three vehicles, they were able to bring the fire under control after approximately 3 hours of rigorous effort.
Following that, the police and fire brigade arrived at the location and promptly began providing relief and conducting rescue operations. The fire was so intense that it was challenging for the fire personnel to enter the shop. In that scenario, the fire department climbed up the adjacent buildings and began spraying pressurized water. After reducing the heat slightly, the firefighters outside the store went in and extinguished the fire. The fire department has reported that the fire was contained with the assistance of three vehicles after approximately three hours of intense effort.
In this situation, not just the merchandise worth lakhs of rupees stored in the shop were destroyed by fire, but also several vehicles parked outside the shop were engulfed in flames. Officials have estimated that the loss in this accident exceeds 10 lakh rupees. Following the accident, authorities have initiated an inquiry into the factors behind the incident. There are reports indicating insufficient fire prevention measures in the shop. Because of this, it took a while to extinguish the fire that started.
