Amit Shah labeled Hizb-Ut-Tahrir as terrorist group.

On Thursday, the Narendra Modi administration classified ‘Hizb-Ut-Tahrir’ as a terrorist group. Following PM Shri @narendramodi Ji’s policy of no tolerance for terrorism, the MHA today labeled ‘Hizb-Ut-Tahrir’ as a ‘Terrorist Organisation,” shared Union home minister Amit Shah on social platform X.

The group engages in terror activities such as recruiting young individuals for terrorist organizations and fundraising for terror operations, presenting a significant danger to India’s national security and sovereignty. The minister stated that the Modi government is dedicated to protecting Bharat by confronting terrorism vigorously.

In a notification released by the Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA), the Hizb-ut-Tahrir was charged with promoting terrorism through the utilization of different social media platforms, secure apps, and by holding ‘Dawah’ gatherings to persuade naive youth to partake in terrorist activities. In addition: Hizb-ut-Tahrir’s goal is to create an Islamic state and caliphate worldwide, including in India, by using jihad and terrorism to overthrow democratically elected governments with the help of citizens, posing a serious threat to the country’s democratic system and internal security, the MHА said.

On Wednesday, the National Investigation Agency (NIA) detained a main suspect in the Tamil Nadu Hizb-ut- Tahrir (HuT) case for promoting disaffection and secessionism in Puducherry by endorsing the anti outfit’s ideology.

Established in 1953 in Jerusalem, Hizb-ut-Tahrir is an international pan-Islamic organization. The organization is based in Lebanon and functions in over 30 countries such as the United Kingdom, the United States, Canada, and Australia.
