Prime Minister Narendra Modi participated in the Tribal Pride Day event held to commemorate the 150th birth anniversary of Dharti Aaba Bhagwan Birsa Munda in Ballapur, Khaira block of Jamui district. During this event, the Prime Minister remotely launched, initiated, and dedicated projects totaling Rs 6600 crore. Governor Rajendra Vishwanath Arlekar and Chief Minister Nitish Kumar were also in attendance at this event.
Speaking at the event, the Chief Minister welcomed everyone for coming in big numbers to celebrate Tribal Pride Day and greet Prime Minister Narendra Modi. He congratulated and welcomed all the attendees. The Prime Minister is fully dedicated to the country and is also providing complete assistance to Bihar.
He mentioned that today, on 15th November, in Jamui, the birthday of Lord Birsa Munda is being celebrated as Tribal Pride Day. It brings me immense joy that the Prime Minister has visited Jamui for this program. I wholeheartedly welcome and congratulate them. Additionally, I extend my warmest congratulations to everyone participating in the program, including the Governor of Bihar, Union Minister, and Bihar Minister.
The Chief Minister stated that Bhagwan Birsa Munda was a heroic figure in the tribal community, who fought extensively for their rights. Bhagwan Birsa Munda came into this world in Ranchi on 15 November, 1875. Today Ranchi is distinct, but when he was born, Bengal, Bihar, and Orissa were united. Shortly after achieving independence, Bihar was partitioned from Bengal, followed by the separation of Orissa a few months later. Bihar and Jharkhand were united at that time.
He mentioned that Jharkhand became independent from Bihar in 2000 after many years. During that period, the central government under Atal Bihari Vajpayee’s leadership made the decision to establish a distinct state of Jharkhand from Bihar. Bhagwan Birsa Munda played a significant role in the country’s independence and the advancement of tribal communities. While he was rebelling against the British, he was imprisoned and passed away in 1900 at the age of 25.
The Chief Minister stated that since the year 2021, the Central Government has been commemorating Lord Birsa Munda’s birthday as Tribal Pride Day under the guidance of Prime Minister Narendra Modi. This year commemorates the 150th birth anniversary of Lord Birsa Munda. Today, in addition to Tribal Pride Day, the Prime Minister has initiated projects worth Rs 6600 crore for the improvement of the tribal region, I commend him for this significant initiative.
The Chief Minister stated that the Bihar government erected Bhagwan Birsa Munda’s statue in Patna in 2007. Every year on 15 November, the state government holds a state function to commemorate Bhagwan Birsa Munda’s birthday. Even in modern times, it is still observed as an official event in that location. Ever since the establishment of the NDA government in Bihar in 2005, numerous initiatives have been undertaken to benefit the tribal community in the region. You will be informed of everything by the Prime Minister’s words.
He repeated that I am reiterating that we will be constantly with him. Some of my associates made an error in the meantime. We have been together since the era of Atal Bihari Vajpayee. We used to be part of the same administration, but there was a falling out, and now we have no plans to reunite. We have been in a relationship since 1995. We will stay by his side and not leave anywhere.
The Prime Minister is working for the whole nation and has made significant contributions to Bihar, as stated by the Chief Minister. Whenever the Prime Minister travels to a certain location, he is always productive and efficient in completing tasks. Since his arrival, he has accomplished a great deal of development work. He is greeted warmly and praised. We stand fully by his side. I am very happy that he came here today, so I congratulate him. I want to emphasize the importance of staying united and urge everyone to show support for the Prime Minister by raising their hands and applauding.
At the event, the Prime Minister, Governor, and Chief Minister, as well as other attendees, unveiled a special logo and stamp in honor of the 150th birthday of Bhagwan Birsa Munda.
At the start of the event, the Prime Minister, Governor and Chief Minister went to see the exhibition near the stage portraying tribal heritage, brave stories, and entrepreneurial spirit of tribal people.
