Pithoragarh: The Hotel Association is also speaking up, requesting permission for everyone from Old Lipu to visit Kailash. The organization has raised concerns about offering this service exclusively to worshippers arriving via helicopter.

Hotel Association District President Rajendra Bhatt stated that many devotees from across the nation are arriving in Dharchula with the hope of visiting Kailash from Old Lipu, only to leave without fulfilling their desire. Regular tourists can only visit Adi Kailash and Om Parvat, while those participating in the Kailash Darshan Scheme organized by the Tourism Department and Kumaon Mandal Vikas Nigam are taken to Old Lipu to see Kailash.

Helicopter travel is a costly option that is out of reach for many. Bhatt, the President of the Association, stated that numerous tour operators in the region are locals. They are not being allowed to travel to Old Lipu, while the local residents have been carrying out the crucial duty of safeguarding the border for many years.
