BJP and Aam Aadmi Party will intensify efforts for Mayor and Deputy Mayor elections, potentially leading to chaos in MCD.

The voting for the Mayor and Deputy Mayor of the Municipal Corporation of Delhi (MCD) is scheduled for Thursday. Based on the directive given by the Corporation’s Secretary one day prior to the election, BJP councilor Satya Sharma was appointed as the presiding officer for the election of the Mayor of Delhi. Typically, the present mayor serves as the presiding officer. In this scenario, the Aam Aadmi Party’s protest and commotion can be observed in the MCD on Thursday.

Initially, the election for Mayor and Deputy Mayor was scheduled for April, but now, following the directive from the Corporation Secretary, the election will take place on Thursday at 2 PM in the Aruna Asaf Ali Auditorium, Civic Centre, New Delhi.

Satya Sharma serves as the councillor for ward number 226 and has been appointed as the presiding officer by the corporation secretary for the upcoming corporation meeting scheduled for Thursday. Initially, this election was scheduled for April, but now, after seven months, it will take place on November 14 at 2 pm.

Other delayed meetings from May, June, July, August, and September will also take place on Thursday. In a previous announcement from the Municipal Secretary’s office, it was stated that the meeting is taking place at the Mayor’s directive.

According to sources, both the BJP and Aam Aadmi Party will exert their maximum effort in the elections for Mayor and Deputy Mayor, and there may be a likelihood of chaos in the MCD at this time.

The Aam Aadmi Party asserts that it has made every effort to support the Dalit community, whereas the BJP has denied the rights of the Dalit community. AAP has taken all possible steps to strengthen this community in every manner. Conversely, the BJP is criticizing the Aam Aadmi Party.

They have explored every avenue for the welfare of everyone, whereas the BJP has stripped the Dalit community of its rights. AAP has exerted every possible effort to strengthen this community in all aspects. Conversely, the BJP is targeting the Aam Aadmi Party.

This will mark the third term of the mayor since the AAP took control of the MCD in December 2022. The AAP concluded the BJP’s 15-year governance by securing 134 of the 250 wards. The BJP secured victory in 104 wards.
