Delhi High Court directed Delhi University and students to submit a report within 10 days confirming the return of all properties.

The Delhi High Court has made a significant ruling concerning the outcomes of the student union elections conducted at the university. The court stated that if DU is pleased with the campus cleanliness measures, it must announce the student union election results by or on 26 November.

Previously, when the case was examined on October 28, the court did not permit the counting of votes and instructed to provide the latest clarification report, leading to the court setting a date today for announcing the results.

Indeed, concerning the student union elections at Delhi University, a bench led by the Chief Justice of the Delhi High Court stated that they can move forward only once the university confirms that the public and private properties damaged during the election campaign have been restored and painted within a week.

Moreover, the Delhi High Court instructed the Delhi University and the relevant students to submit a report to the High Court registry within 10 days, verifying that all properties reported to the court have been returned.

This choice was made following the appeal from Prashant Manchandha, who expressed worries regarding property loss during the election period.

In the Delhi High Court’s hearing of this case, MCT stated that it would incur expenses amounting to lakhs of rupees to remove the posters and paint from the walls, while the court responded that the candidates responsible for dirtying the walls should pay for the cleaning.

Although posters and murals had been taken down from most areas of the university campus, numerous spots still displayed visible propaganda paint.
