The Diwali festival is here. All state governments are providing Diwali presents to both their employees and the citizens of the state. Some have offered free gas cylinders, while others have promised round-the-clock electricity. Yogi Adityanath, the Chief Minister of Uttar Pradesh, has directed officials to make sure there are no power outages in the state between October 28 and November 15.

During the Thursday meeting, CM Yogi Adityanath directed to ensure no power cuts in the state from Dhanteras to Kartik Purnima on November 15, including Diwali, Bhaiyadooj, and Chhath Puja. During this time of celebration and excitement, Yogi directed that everyone should receive uninterrupted electricity for a full day. Whether it is a city or countryside. The Chief Minister directed the Power Corporation to get ready. During previous Diwali celebrations, electricity was only provided without interruptions for four to five days, but for the first time, there are orders to ensure round-the-clock power supply for 19 consecutive days.

CM Yogi Adityanath shared a message on social media platform X stating that the police administration has been directed to ensure law and order at all festivals, handle troublemakers firmly, and monitor social media closely. Immediate measures need to be taken against individuals who are responsible for spreading false information.

During the meeting, Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath directed that all recipients of the Ujjwala scheme should receive complimentary cooking cylinders prior to Diwali. There must be no postponement in this. He also added that it is important to liaise with the organizations and ensure that all recipients receive complimentary cylinders promptly.

The Chief Minister stated that due to the festival, there has been a rise in the number of people moving around. Many individuals return to their households and thus the Transportation Department must boost the bus fleet to accommodate them. Buses that are in bad shape should be prohibited from operating on the streets.
