During the BRICS summit in Kazan, Russia, Indian Prime Minister Modi and China’s Prime Minister met for bilateral talks with President Xi Jinping. They both agreed on patrolling the Line of Actual Control (LAC) and welcomed the decision. China has recently issued a statement on the matter, stating that they are implementing proposals for the withdrawal of troops along the Line of Actual Control in eastern Ladakh in a methodical way. Information from army sources in India has indicated that both countries’ armies will exchange sweets in celebration of Deepawali.

During a media briefing, Chinese Foreign Ministry spokesperson Lin Jian announced that China and India have agreed on a resolution to their border-related issues.

Chinese Foreign Ministry spokesman Lin Jian stated that currently, the Chinese and Indian Army are working towards executing the suggestions in an organized manner, without revealing additional information.

Following a significant agreement between India and China, both countries initiated the withdrawal of troops from Demchok and Depsang in eastern Ladakh on October 2. Following the intense confrontation in the Galwan Valley in June 2020, the two Asian nations saw a deterioration in their relations, leading to a very negative relationship.

Vikram Misri, the Foreign Secretary, announced in New Delhi on October 21 that the agreement, which has been concluded after weeks of negotiations, will address the problems that emerged in 2020.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Chinese President Xi Jinping emphasized the significance of effectively addressing discrepancies and conflicts between both nations. On the other hand, Xi Jinping emphasized the importance of improved communication and cooperation, stating that both our nations’ citizens and the global community eagerly anticipate our meeting. Conversely, PM Modi expressed, “We feel that the connection between India and China is crucial not just for our citizens, but also for worldwide peace, steadiness, and advancement.”
