Following tension in Bangladesh, there is ongoing infiltration in the northeastern states. In the meantime, there was an illegal crossing of the international border into India, resulting in the arrest of a person from Tripura by BSF for entering. Five additional individuals were also arrested in the Sabroom area, with one of them being taken into custody. According to police reports, two of the individuals who were arrested are Bangladeshi citizens.

BSF soldiers witnessed five individuals crossing the border in the village of Jalkumba and subsequently apprehended them. As per Sabroom Sub-Divisional Police Officer (SDPO) Nityananda Sarkar, out of the group of five individuals, three are Indian nationals while the other two are citizens of Bangladesh attempting to illegally cross the international border. A First Information Report has been filed at the Sabroom police station regarding this matter.

He mentioned that three Indian nationals had traveled to Bangladesh to visit a family member but became stranded there because of turmoil. In the meantime, there has been a slight improvement in the situation in Bangladesh, leading to three Indian and two Bangladeshi citizens traveling to Sabroom.

However, the BSP soldiers spotted them and they were then apprehended. Currently, individuals are undergoing questioning.

There are ongoing efforts to infiltrate Tripura and Assam. Five citizens from the neighboring country, including a broker, were detained by the BSF last Saturday. A representative of BSF reported that four Bangladeshi nationals were apprehended by BSF personnel in Sepahijala district. Three individuals from Gopalganj, Bangladesh, have been recognized, alongside another suspect who is a broker from Kasba, also from Bangladesh. The spokesperson stated that Bangladeshi brokers frequently assist unauthorized intruders.

During a different mission, BSF soldiers in Unakoti district captured a Bangladeshi citizen as he attempted to cross into Indian territory. The individual in custody has been recognized as a Netrokona district resident in Bangladesh. BSF officials stated that they have successfully thwarted several cross-border smuggling attempts, as well as rescued 12 cattle and seized 900 kg of sugar and other prohibited items.
