The creators of Citadel organized a unique screening of Citadel: Honey Bunny (India) and Citadel: Diana (Italy) in London, where Matilda De Angelis and Priyanka Chopra, who stars in the US original version, were in attendance.
Despite not being physically present, Varun Dhawan, the star of the Indian adaptation, managed to virtually participate in the event. The actor shared a sequence of altered images on Instagram, showing a cardboard cutout of himself at the event, with the caption, “I attended.”
Primes Video came up with a witty reply to Varun’s post, implying that critics could describe it as photoshopped. Nonetheless, it was Varun’s close friend and fellow actor, Janhvi Kapoor, who captured all the attention with her comedic response.
In the initial photos from the screening, Samantha, the main character of the series, can be seen taking pictures with the series directors, Raj and DK. Varun looked handsome in a trendy blue and red striped suit in one photo, and stylish in a black outfit in another photo. He also rocked a striking red suit and a green suit matched with a red shirt in separate photos. At the same time, Varun, who often shares photos without a shirt on social platforms, chose not to include one in his most recent post.
In a previous OTT Play interview, Raj and DK discussed Citadel and described it as a completely original story, according to Honey Bunny. Certainly, it is within the realm of the universe, yet many individuals perceive it as a modification or a reproduction. That is not the case. It is an autonomous series with its own unique narrative within the universe crafted by the Russo brothers. That is the link; the universe is the bond. The stories are separate. Citadel’s primary series stars Priyanka Chopra and Richard Madden in the leading roles.
The Indian edition of the show features Kay Kay Menon, Simran, Soham Majumdar, Shivankit Parihar, Kashvi Majmundar, Saqib Saleem, and Sikandar Kher in secondary roles as well. The show will be available on Amazon Prime starting from November 7, 2024.
