Sanjay Leela Bhansali and Deepika Padukone have produced several successful movies in Bollywood. The actor and director have collaborated on three lavish and extravagant films. During a recent interview, the director discussed his initial response upon meeting the actor for the very first time. He remembered feeling frozen and captivated by her beauty.
During an interview with The Hollywood Reporter, Sanjay Leela Bhansali discussed the initial meeting he had with Deepika Padukone at her residence. He remembered the actor had opened the door for him and he was surprised by her beauty. He said, “I encountered Deepika when I visited her home for the first time, she greeted me at the door. The woman’s beauty, especially her eyes, left me speechless when I realized the depth of subtlety, fragility, and beauty she possessed. She began speaking, and I noticed how lovely her voice was.
Sanjay Leela Bhansali mentioned that he realized in that moment that he could shape Padukone into the character he envisioned for his movie. The director went on to say, “I then understood I was in the perfect moment and location because I knew this girl would be shaped and guided to success. It’s your intuition for making connections. Your soul must reach out and connect with their soul.”
The debut film for Sanjay Leela Bhansali and Deepika Padukone was Goliyon Ki Raasleela Ram-Leela. The film also represented the debut of Padukone and Ranveer Singh sharing the screen together for the first time. In addition to them, Supriya Pathak, Richa Chadda, Sharad Kelkar, Gulshan Devaiah, Barkha Bisht Sengupta, and Abhimanyu Singh were also part of the movie’s cast. Following Ram-Leela, they collaborated on Bajirao Mastani. In this movie, Padukone and Singh also appeared together on screen. Their most recent movie, Padmaavat, came out in 2018. In significant roles, Padukone, Singh, Aditi Rao Hydari, and Jim Sarbh were featured in the film. Padukone’s next appearance on the work front will be in Singham Again. The upcoming movie directed by Rohit Shetty will hit theatres on November 1. The film features a talented ensemble including Singh, Ajay Devgn, Kareena Kapoor, Jackie Shroff, Tiger Shroff, Arjun Kapoor, and Akshay Kumar. At the moment, Bhansali is busy with Love And War, a movie featuring Alia Bhatt, Vicky Kaushal, and Ranbir Kapoor.
