Since last week, when Nag Ashwin and Prabhas revealed the remarkable Bujji, a tailor-made vehicle for the film Kalki 2898 AD, at an event in Hyderabad, its promotion has spanned various channels. Following a review by Autocar, the car caught the attention of actor Naga Chaitanya and F1 racer Narain Karthikeyan, who both had a chance to test drive it. Nag Ashwin is reaching out to Tesla’s Elon Musk, offering him a unique opportunity to experience Bujji up close.

Described as a “6-ton beast,” Bujji appeared in Chennai after its unveiling in Hyderabad, captivating many as it cruised the city streets. A video shared on X (the platform previously known as Twitter) captured this moment, prompting Nag to invite Musk for a test drive directly. He suggested that Bujji and Musk’s Cybertruck would make an impressive duo, highlighting Bujji’s fully electric nature and engineering prowess, all homegrown in India. The Bujji team echoed this invitation on social media, signalling their interest in connecting with Musk.

Introducing Bujji
The anticipation around Bujji began with a behind-the-scenes video that showcased the ‘brain’ of Bujji – a robot characterized by its anxious and impatient demeanour during the vehicle’s assembly. This led up to the grand reveal of Bujji, a three-wheeler, at a special Hyderabad event attended by the media and select guests. Voiced by Keerthy Suresh, Bujji is the loyal companion to Prabhas’s character Bhairava in Kalki 2898 AD. The team also released a teaser to give audiences a glimpse of Bujji.

Anand Mahindra played a crucial role in bringing Bujji to life, with Nag acknowledging Mahindra’s support following the vehicle’s debut. Mahindra expressed his pride in X, praising Nag and his team for their ambitious vision. He noted that Chennai’s Mahindra Research Valley team was instrumental in developing the futuristic vehicle and assisting with its powertrain configuration, architecture, and performance.
