Prime Minister Narendra Modi extended his congratulations to Mithun Chakraborty upon hearing the news of his Dadasaheb Phalke Award for this year. In a post to X, PM Modi shared Union minister Ashwini Vaishnaw’s announcement and sent his congratulations to Mithun.

The announcement that Mithun Chakraborty has received the Dadasaheb Phalke Award follows closely after he was presented with the Padma Bhushan. The event occurred in April and the actor was witnessed receiving the accolade from President Draupadi Murmu.
Mithun Chakraborty began his acting career in 1977 and appeared in numerous movies including Disco Dancer, Agneepath, Mujhe Insaaf Chahiye, Hum Se Hai Zamana, Pasand Apni Apni, Ghar Ek Mandir, and Kasam Paida Karne Wale Ki, among others. In the past few years, he has been seen in movies like OMG: Oh My God.
