Kangana Ranaut, famous for her acting career and political activities, experienced a regrettable event at the Chandigarh airport last Thursday. The incident involved Kangana being slapped by a Central Industry Security Force (CISF) member.

Following the incident, Ranaut took to social media to communicate with her followers and the general public, ensuring her safety through a statement.

In her detailed account shared via Instagram stories, Ranaut recounted the incident, emphasizing her well-being and sharing her concerns over the escalating situation in Punjab.

“Hello, my friends. I’ve been overwhelmed with calls from the media and those worried about me. Above all, I want to reassure everyone that I am safe and well,” she began.

She continued, “An incident occurred today at the security checkpoint at Chandigarh airport. After I completed my security check and was passing by a CISF personnel, I was hit in the face and subjected to verbal abuse. Upon inquiring why she behaved this way, she mentioned her support for the farmers’ protest.”

Ranaut did not just share about her safety but also voiced her anxiety regarding the growing unrest in Punjab, questioning, “I may be safe, but how do we deal with the escalating terrorism and extremism in Punjab? Thank you.”

Further reports by Hindustan Times shed light on the reasons behind the altercation, stating that the newly elected MP from Mandi was slapped during a security check following her refusal to place her phone on the tray and push security personnel.

Ranaut, who had departed for Delhi from Mandi at 3 PM on a Vistara flight, was caught on video at the airport post-incident. The video quickly spread across social media platforms, including X.

This incident followed shortly after her victory in the Lok Sabha elections for the Mandi seat in Himachal Pradesh, where she outperformed her Congress opponent, Vikramaditya Singh.
