During a frank conversation with Netflix India to promote her new cyber-thriller CTRL, Ananya Panday discussed her conflicting emotions towards the paparazzi. Although she values their contribution, the Call Me Bae actress confessed that being asked to pose from various angles, particularly when she’s not feeling up to it, really bothers her.
Ananya Panday clarified that she doesn’t mind paparazzi in general, but she strongly dislikes when they request her to turn around and strike a pose. They take pictures from the rear and have the viewers speculate about the subject in the image. The actress shared her annoyance, explaining that these instances frequently result in unwarranted assumptions about her feelings or personal matters.
Ananya Panday recounted how a routine gym trip became a topic of tabloid speculation regarding her romantic status. Just after my exercise session, I felt extremely tired. After leaving the gym, I overheard people mentioning how sad I appeared. She must have experienced a breakup (Break up ho gaya). She joked, “Try lifting 170 kgs and doing deadlifts first, then we can talk!”
Ananya Panday laughed it away but emphasized that she doesn’t like this aspect of being in the spotlight. Everyone appears unhappy at the gym. I’m completely worn out! However, the media fabricates narratives about my emotional state. She added that’s what she doesn’t like – them looking into it.
Her remarks mirror the feelings expressed by actress Janhvi Kapoor, who previously criticized the paparazzi for taking unflattering photos of her. Nevertheless, after dealing with the problem, Janhvi observed that photographers have been more thoughtful towards her. Ananya Panday’s CTRL made its debut on Netflix on October 4, 2024, creating excitement with its compelling storyline and her exceptional acting.
