After being asked by ruling NDA to declare his religion before visiting the Tirupati temple, ex-chief minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy stated on Saturday that he values all faiths and considers humanity as his religion.
My religion is known throughout the entire state in the country. My father, who passed away, served as the chief minister two times and always sought the blessings of Lord Balaji. I acknowledge Hindu religious beliefs, customs, and practices while also reading the Bible. I have respect for Islam and Sikhism as well. YS Jagan Mohan Reddy told reporters to include in the declaration that his religion is humanity.
The ex-chief minister of Andhra Pradesh expressed astonishment at leaders from other states attempting to prevent him from visiting, as they warned him and his party members not to violate Section 30 of the Police Act during their planned trip to the Tirupati temple, which was ultimately cancelled for ‘security reasons’.
He mentioned that he had been to the temple 11 times, including visits made before he became chief minister. In the past, my religion was never questioned. He questioned, “Are you now hitting me with this notification to demonstrate my loyalty?”
As per regulations, individuals from other countries and those who are not adherents of Hinduism must express their respect for Lord Venkateswara in order to receive a glimpse of the main deity at the hill temple, a retired government official informed PTI.
Speaking about the requests from the ruling NDA for him to disclose his religion before visiting the hill shrine, he commented on the way people were questioning him about his faith to enter the temple.
The ex-chief minister of Andhra Pradesh stated that she is surprised by the BJP leaders from different states who are targeting her.
The TDP used social media to reply to Jagan’s comments.
“Who came to a halt?” As per the legal requirement, I must acknowledge that I have faith in Swami. If you are unwilling to do so, please leave. In a social media post on X, the TDP asked, “Who instructed you not to put your signature?”
There is no room for religious-based hatred in politics. Currently, the BJP is questioning my faith extensively. He wants to inquire about the actions being taken against Chandrababu Naidu for allegedly causing a ‘laddoo prasadam’ controversy and disrespecting the Tirumala Temple.
