On Monday, a BJP member from Indore district suggested that during the Navratri festival Garba, individuals should be encouraged to consume “gaumutra” before entering garba pandals as a Hindu would never be able to decline this requirement.

The Congress questioned the BJP leader’s statement, calling it a fresh strategy of polarization by the saffron party.

According to BJP district president Chintu Verma, the tradition of “aachman” holds a lot of importance in Sanatan culture, as he informed reporters.

He stated that we have asked organizers to make sure that worshippers do aachaman with cow urine before being permitted to enter garba pandals.

In Hindu traditions, aachaman involves reciting mantras and taking a sip of water before beginning religious ceremonies as a form of purification.

Verma stated that sometimes individuals participate in these events, leading to discussions, when asked about the reason for this demand.

It is possible to make changes to an Aadhaar card. Yet, if someone is a Hindu, they will only step into the Garba pandal after performing the aachaman ritual with cow urine, and there is no possibility of rejecting it,” he explained.

Neelabh Shukla, Congress spokesperson, claimed that BJP leaders are not addressing the issue of cow shelters and are instead focused on politicizing the matter.

He stated that the BJP’s new strategy of boosting the demand for cow urine aachman is a way of engaging in divisive politics. He called for BJP leaders to drink cow urine before attending events and share videos on social platforms.
