In Gurugram’s Sector 35, chaos ensued on Saturday morning when a disagreement led to violent clashes, resulting in injuries to a policeman and damage to over a dozen vehicles, including one used for police emergency responses, according to local law enforcement.

The disturbance broke out near an automotive production facility in Sector 35, triggered by the tragic death of a worker who was reportedly struck by a bus belonging to the factory. The incident occurred outside the factory’s main entrance around 8:30 am.

The victim was identified as Monu Kumar, a 24-year-old man from Agra, Uttar Pradesh. Reports suggest that he was tragically killed when he was standing behind the bus, and the driver reversed the vehicle without noticing him.

Deputy Commissioner of Police (South) Siddhant Jain mentioned, “The body of the deceased had not yet been released to the authorities for an autopsy as the workers had kept it within the premises of the factory. Efforts were underway to calm the workers and persuade them to allow police access to the facility.” He further disclosed that the violent outburst involved factory workers pelting stones, causing injury to a sub-inspector. Following the upheaval, the bus driver, the factory’s security personnel, and some officials left the scene.

To manage the situation and restore order, Jain noted that approximately 150 police officers and several fire engines were deployed to the location.
