Several Hindu Sikh Global Forum activists marching to the High Commission attempted to climb over and collapse the police barricades. They raised shouts and carried posters that read ‘Hindus and Sikhs are united’  The demonstrations come after several Khalistani sympathizers attacked devotees outside the Hindu Sabha Mandir in Brampton, Canada, during a consular camp on November 4. The event drew considerable criticism, including from Prime Minister Narendra Modi, who condemned the “deliberate attack” and “cowardly attempts to intimidate” Indian diplomats.

Following the attack, large protests erupted outside the Brampton temple, with additional rallies taking place in Mississauga. Harinder Sohi, a Canadian police officer, was suspended for engaging in a pro-Khalistan protest that included anti-India shouts. Canadian officials have arrested four people in connection with the violence and ensuing protests. Inderjeet Gosal, a prominent operative of India’s banned organization Sikhs for Justice (SFJ), was arrested recently. Gosal, an associate of the assassinated Khalistani terrorist Hardeep Singh Nijjar, has been accused of assault with a weapon.
