A 55-year-old father and his seven-year-old grandson were hurt on Monday when a car driven by a 17-year-old rammed into them in north Delhi’s Adarsh Nagar. The incident was recorded on CCTV.
In the video, Rajesh Kumar Kamra is seen going down the road with his grandson, Mannat, in his arms. Moments after, a Hyundai Santro turns sharply right, colliding with flags and a man riding a bike before slamming Kamra and dragging the kid with it. The driver also hit four individuals who were standing and speaking on the side of the road, according to the CCTV footage.
Kamra, who had fallen to the ground, turned around to find his grandson pinned beneath the car’s rear wheels. Following this, a crowd rushed to the scene, stopped the automobile from reversing, and managed to extract the youngster, who had sustained terrible injuries, from underneath the vehicle.
The injured were taken to a local hospital by family members, and a police team arrived to investigate the circumstances leading up to the incident. Police apprehended the teen and seized his automobile. They took legal action against the vehicle’s owner.
