New Delhi: Three criminals entered a West Delhi showroom in broad daylight yesterday, handed the owner an extortion letter with an amount scribbled on it, shot multiple times in the air to emphasize their point, and then brazenly walked out.
A CCTV camera outside the showroom captured the crooks’ chutzpah as they attempted extortion in full public view at a showroom in the national capital. According to reports, the gunmen are members of the Jitendra Gogi gang. While criminal Jitendra Gogi was shot dead in a Rohini courtroom in 2021, his assistant Deepak Boxer, who is currently in jail, now leads the gang. This gang is also affiliated with the Lawrence Bishnoi gang.
CCTV footage shows three persons walking towards the showroom’s door. They are armed, and their faces are covered. The one in the front is wearing a helmet and holding a piece of paper. As he enters the showroom, the other two men begin firing in the air, plainly intended to cause fear. Soon, the man who went inside emerges and joins the other two in shooting rounds. The three walk away. One of them turns back and shoots several more rounds.
The extortion message includes a photograph of Gogi and another thug, Kuldeep Fajja. It bears the names “Yogesh Dhaiya,” “Fajje Bhai,” and “Monti Mann,” as well as the amount of “10 Cr”.
According to police sources, the gang only lately began making extortion demands in this manner. The threat, and the audacious way in which it was issued, are interpreted as the gang’s challenge to Delhi Police. On Monday, two shooting incidents occurred in Delhi’s Nangloi and Alipur. The Gogi gang’s moniker appeared in these cases as well. A police case has been filed, according to senior cops who spoke with ANI. A police team has investigated the scene, and efforts are on to locate the accused, according to authorities.
