On Sunday, Chief Minister Atishi described the explosion outside the CRPF School in Rohini Sector 14 as a sign of the “crumbling state of Delhi’s security”.

She accused the BJP-led Union government of failing to maintain law and order, saying, “The city is seeing broad daylight shootings, criminals extorting citizens, and a notable increase in criminal morale. The BJP lacks both the intent and competence to rule. Instead of interfering with the elected government’s work, the BJP-led Centre should focus on its responsibility to safeguard the safety of Delhi people.

Law and order and policing in Delhi, a Union Territory with particular authorities, are overseen by the Centre through the Lieutenant Governor. Meanwhile, Lieutenant Governor V K Saxena called for calm. “A multi-agency investigation is underway into the explosions that occurred in Delhi today. I am constantly monitoring the investigation’s progress and am confident that the guilty will be brought to justice. Meanwhile, I urge everyone to exercise restraint and refrain from spreading fear.”

Atishi, referring to the shooting in a popular area of East Delhi’s Welcome on Saturday, stated that crimes linked to gangs in Delhi were on the rise. “Former deputy chief minister Manish Sisodia also confronted the BJP, demanding the resignation of the Union Cabinet in the wake of the Rohini bomb. “Today’s blast highlights the Union government’s total failure and negligence toward the people of Delhi,” added the minister.

Virendra Sachdeva, head of the Delhi BJP, said it was “regrettable” that AAP leaders politicized the matter. “The Delhi Police has a strong crime detection record and has successfully resolved practically all recent criminal cases. “We are confident that Delhi Police will solve today’s cases as well,” he said.
