As Delhi’s air quality deteriorates, Swati Maliwal, an Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) MP, said on Saturday that pollution was also present in the water. Maliwal spilled contaminated water outside Delhi Chief Minister Atishi’s house. Maliwal stated that the water was gathered from a residence in Sagar Pur, South West Delhi, where the government has allegedly supplied tainted water.

The AAP MP put a bottle of tainted water outside the Chief Minister’s residence and issued a 15-day deadline to address the water pollution issue. “I caution the Chief Minister that this is only a sampling. If she does not fix Delhi’s water supply within fifteen days, I will bring a tanker filled.

Maliwal reported that she was summoned by a family in Sagarpur to test the quality of water, and she discovered dark water contaminated with contaminants. She stated, “The people of Sagarpur, Dwarka, have called me, and the situation there is quite awful. I went to a house where filthy water was being given. I collected dirty water in a bottle and delivered it to the Chief Minister’s residence.”

He stated that for the past nine years, the government has promised that every home would receive RO water the following year. “Is this the Diwali gift to the people of Delhi?” she inquired. This comes as the Yamuna River continues to be heavily polluted, with no major change in the water.
