National Police Games: Traffic controls along key Delhi stretch in preparation for the marathon The police said that traffic was restricted in three segments, including Lodhi Road, for a few hours on Thursday morning due to the marathon, which was part of the 73rd All India Police Athletic Cluster Championship National Police Games.

The Lodhi Road remained closed until 9.30 a.m. on Thursday, as the marathon began at 5 a.m. from the Jawaharlal Nehru (JLN) Stadium, according to Delhi Police. The five-day National Police Games, organized by the Delhi Police, will end at 4 p.m. on Thursday, November 14.

Traffic barriers were also in place on BP Marg and Archbishop Road. “The stretches will reopen around 9.30 a.m., and traffic will proceed as usual,” said Dinesh K Gupta, the Additional Chief of Police (Traffic).

According to an officer, all routes leading to the JLN Stadium will see severe traffic as a result of the temporary closure, and commuters are encouraged to avoid the route. The restricted roads are typically critical in the early hours for office workers as well as children who attend numerous schools in the neighborhood, including the YMCA Public School. The competition will feature up to 1,123 police personnel, comprising 759 men and 364 women, with 39 teams from 25 states, five union territories, and ten Central Armed Police Forces.
