Atim Singh, a Noida resident, ordered protein supplements from a recognized brand online. But, to his horror, after he drank them, he became very unwell, with stomach and liver problems, as well as facial outbreaks, according to authorities.

Singh filed a complaint with the Noida Police on December 9, after becoming suspicious of the merchandise. The police subsequently filed an FIR under BNS Section 318 (4) cheating and related sections of the IT Act. During the inquiry, authorities linked the product to a plant in Greater Noida’s Sector 86, and a team, along with Food Safety and Drug Administration officials, raided the facility on Tuesday.

Inside, the deputy commissioner of Police (Greater Noida) Shakti Mohan Avasthi stated that officials discovered three males loading empty cartons in the basement. “A big number of cartons containing bogus protein powder labeled ‘The Athlete’s Complete Nutrition’ were discovered in the basement. When we asked if they had a license, the males didn’t respond. “We then notified the Food Safety Team, and they were arrested,” added the DCP.

Protein supplements are primarily utilized by athletes, bodybuilders, and even young people who visit gyms to improve their fitness levels. The DCP reported that a massive hoard of “protein boxes, capsule boxes, wrappers, powder sacks, packing machines, printing machines, and seals worth Rs 50 lakh” was also found at the location.

According to police, the males in question were Ghaziabad residents Sahil Yadav (27), Deepak Aggarwal (28), and Amit Choubey (30). The trio used internet venues to sell their phony pills at prices four to five times higher than the market.

Singh had ordered these (fake) workout supplements, and after taking them, his health deteriorated, causing stomach and liver problems as well as abrupt breakouts on his face,” according to the DCP.

During questioning, authorities said Sahil confessed that he worked at Advance NutraTech, a dietary supplement manufacturing company in Haryana, from 2017 to 2018. “After learning the fundamentals of the profession, he founded his firm on December 1 and partnered with Harsh and Amit.
