The India-US partnership, like a palm tree’s endurance in the face of the “strongest storm” and “biggest wind,” will continue to thrive and benefit the globe, US Ambassador Eric Gabriel said on Monday.
In an address at an event, the envoy praised India’s “bold goals” for renewable energy, claiming that it will emerge as the “shop floor” of the sector globally in the next 30 years.
India’s ambitious objectives and policies have enabled India a leader in solar and wind capacity, not just for this country, but to be able to create at a cost around the world — the solar power systems that we need, the electrolyzes that need want, the batteries that are critical,” added the president.
Garcetti said he would give talks on India-US ties addressing the “four Ps – peace, prosperity, planet, and people” before leaving New Delhi, with the first on Monday focusing on the planet.
The US ambassador is slated to leave office before Donald Trump’s second term as President begins on January 20 to allow the next government to make its choice.

“The executive branch here adopted ambitious objectives, and I have seen India commit more to clean energy than almost every nation on the planet.”The ambassador also cited several projects between India and the United States in the clean energy sector, stating that the partnership will continue to expand. There have been concerns that the Donald Trump administration will not appropriately focus on the clean energy sector.
“So don’t worry, America’s going to be your partner no matter what, and we are committed, as we’ve shown, with billions of dollars of green investment streaming solar and wind projects, electro vehicle production, energy storage solutions,” according to Garcetti.
He also listed a number of renewable energy projects launched by India and the United States, including the Renewable Energy Technology Action Platform. In his speech, the envoy also discussed democracy’s inherent strength in comparison to autocracies such as China.
