The traffic cops were hanging on the car's bonnet but the driver did not stop

New Delhi: In a horrific episode of reckless driving on Delhi’s streets, a car jumped a red light, collided with two traffic cops, and continued driving while the cops hung onto the bonnet. The Mazda Suzuki Fronx is seen making a U-turn while cops cling on for their very lives and implore the driver to stop. According to authorities, the automobile continued to drive for nearly 20 minutes while detectives held on to the hood.

The event happened in Ber Sarai in south Delhi at 7.30 p.m. yesterday. The officers, Assistant Sub-Inspector Pramod and Head Constable Shailesh Chauhan said they were checking vehicles traveling through the popular area near Ber Sarai market.

Suddenly, they noticed a car run a red light. When they motioned for the car to halt, it slowed and then immediately accelerated. The cops in front of the vehicle were caught off guard when the car pushed forward. They hung on the bonnet because the driver did not stop. After around 20 meters, the automobile eventually came to a stop. The cops have been admitted to Safdarjung Hospital.

Based on the cops’ testimony, police have filed a complaint under the laws relating to attempted murder and hindering a public worker in his duties. Sections of the Motor Vehicles Act are also expected to be invoked. The automobile is registered to Jai Bhagwan, a Vasant Kunj resident. Further investigation is underway.
