In a road rage incident in the Nagaloi region on September 29, a Delhi Police constable was run over by a car after he motioned for the driver to stop. He died instantly.
It was stated that the constable was carried for ten meters before running into another car. The driver of the car is currently evading the police after they have confiscated it.
A CCTV camera filmed the events leading up to a fast automobile pulling the 30-year-old police constable along the road in.
The video, which was shot on September 29 at 2:16 a.m., shows the police cruiser speeding closely behind Constable Sandeep’s motorcycle. Sandeep eventually died from head injuries.
Sandeep was riding his bike in plain clothing while on duty to look into an increase in thefts in the region when a speeding WagonR tried to pass him.
Because of the careless driving, Sandeep asked the driver to slow down. Abruptly, the vehicle picked up speed and crashed into Sandeep’s motorcycle from behind, dragging the two of them for around ten meters.
After being taken to a neighbouring hospital in Delhi, Sandeep was moved and eventually pronounced dead there.
Two people were in the automobile, according to the police, and they left the scene following the incident. The vehicle has been confiscated, and police are actively searching for the culprits. A murder case pertaining to the incident has been filed.
The constable leaves behind a five-year-old son, his wife, and mother, according to Delhi Police.
According to NDTV, who cited senior police officer Jimmy Chiram, Sandeep was engaged in patrol when a WagonR made a sudden, fast pass attempt.
The report also stated that following what appeared to be a verbal altercation, the driver accelerated, hit Sandeep’s bike from behind, and pulled him for roughly ten meters before crashing into another car.
This incident adds to the alarming rise of road rage incidents that the Delhi-NCR region has witnessed in recent years. Minor traffic accidents have given rise to conflicts that have killed and seriously injured people.
A 32-year-old autorickshaw driver in Faridabad was viciously beaten last month that led to death after his automobile collided with another vehicle.
