On Monday night, an uncontrolled bus crushed a police policeman and a civilian to death in Delhi’s Tibetan Market. Victor, a police constable assigned to the Civil Lines station, was on night patrol. The civilian hasn’t been identified yet. The incident occurred late last night, between 10:15 and 10:30 p.m.
The accident occurred on the ring road, opposite the Tibetan market or monastery, when a Delhi Transportation Corporation (DTC) bus collided with a unipolar, advertising billboard, causing the pole to fall onto the road. The bus then struck the two individuals and went onto the divider.
Except for a DTC official, the bus had no passengers. The bus driver, Vinod Kumar, 57, has been taken to jail. Mr Kumar has been driving with DTC since 2010, and at the time of the accident, he was on route 261, which connects Sarai Kale Khan ISBT to Nand Nagri.
ictor, a police constable stationed at Civil Lines since June 2023, died as a result of facial, head, and neck injuries. He was taken to Parmanand Hospital but pronounced dead. Victor was on night patrol duty, riding a PCR bike.
