A youngster from Delhi was fatally murdered: refused to accept a "treat" of a new phone.

According to the police, three youths in Shakarpur, East Delhi, fatally stabbed their 16-year-old friend after the friend declined to offer them a “treat” in exchange for a new smartphone on Tuesday. The three lads and the victim were ninth-grade students. The defendants are sixteen years old as well. They’ve been taken into custody.

The police, who were on patrol in the area, observed blood stains near the Ramji Samosa shop in Shakarpur about 7.15 pm on Monday and began a probe. They learned that a group had stabbed a boy.

The youngster was brought to the LNJP Hospital. The victim, identified as 16-year-old Sachin, died of his injuries, in Delhi. The victim was a local resident, according to Deputy Commissioner of Police (East) Apoorva Gupta, who spoke with PTI.

Two stabbings to his back caused Sachin to pass away at the hospital.

After purchasing a cell phone, Sachin and a friend were walking home when they ran into the three boys.

“The group demanded a party or a treat to celebrate the purchase but Sachin refused. An argument ensued, leading to the stabbing,” Gupta continued.

She stated that the three people were taken into custody from the area and that a case under sections 103(1) and 3(5) of the BNS had been filed at the Shakarpur police station.

Police of Delhi utilized surveillance footage to identify the offenders. The murder weapon has also been found by the police.

In August, in Maharashtra’s Thane, three persons were arrested for reportedly abducting and murdering a 13-year-old kid after taking his cell phone valued ₹15,000.

After luring the victim with an offer of a ride, the motorcyclist and his companions brought him to a desolate location where they stole the victim’s cell phone, strangled him, and dumped his body.
