Chief Minister of Delhi Atishi was joined by engineers from the public works department on Monday as they examined the state of the roads in the nation’s capital and gave residents the assurance that Diwali would be “pothole-free.”
According to Atishi, she discovered that the roads at Ashram Chowk and its underpass, Modi Mill overpass, Chirag Dilli, Tughlakabad, Mathura Road, and NSIC Okhla were in poor shape.
According to the chief minister, people have issues because of potholes on certain roads, thus concerned officials have been told to start fixing them right away.
Following the inspection, Atishi declared, “Under Arvind Kejriwal’s direction, it is our goal that all Delhiites have pothole-free roads by Diwali.”
Meanwhile, minister Saurabh Bharadwaj and former deputy chief minister Manish Sisodia examined roads in east Delhi.
In a post on X, Sisodia stated that the BJP imprisoned him and previous chief minister Arvind Kejriwal in fake cases to obstruct the job being done by the AAP government for the people of Delhi.
According to him, this has caused the state of the roads to deteriorate.
Ministers Mukesh Ahlawat, Imran Hussain, Gopal Rai, and Kailash Gahlot inspected roads in a variety of locations. While Gahlot concentrated on west and southwest Delhi, Rai concentrated on the northeast.
Ahlawat evaluated the roads in the north and northwest of Delhi, while Imran Hussain examined New Delhi and central Delhi.
Atishi convened a conference on Sunday to assess the state of the city’s roadways, and he declared that each minister would spend the week examining certain regions to identify which roads required maintenance.
After the inspections, repair work will commence with the aim of having all roads pothole-free by the end of October, she noted.
BJP MP Manoj Tiwari criticized the AAP leadership in response to Atishi’s visit, claiming that they had remained dormant for almost five years and were now attempting to put on a show by taking to the streets.
