Former Delhi CM Arvind Kejriwal speaks during the State Assembly Session at Vidhan Sabha, in New Delhi, Wednesday, Dec. 4, 2024.

Former Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal confronted Union Home Minister Amit Shah on Wednesday, stating that “drugs are coming into the country through Gujarat” right under his nose.

Kejriwal accused the BJP of making Delhi a hub for drug business, claiming that “the drug menace has increased across the Capital.” Drugs are sold from Kirana stores to schools and institutions. Whenever I attend meetings or rallies, people often want me to address the subject of drug usage. “People are scared.”

He was addressing the Delhi Assembly on the penultimate day of the AAP government led by Atishi. The House will reconvene after a new government is formed early next year, following the elections.

He read from a document and described various occurrences of drug recovery throughout the city. In October, 1,289 kg of narcotics and 40 kg of marijuana were discovered, totaling Rs 1,300 crore. All narcotics came from Gujarat… Drug production factories operate openly in Gujarat’s Vadodara and Ankleshwar. Where do these drug factories obtain their basic materials? Through ports, particularly via the Mundra Port sea route.”

Kejriwal claimed that raw materials arriving at the Mundra port, controlled by industrialist Gautam Adani, are routed to several drug-manufacturing companies in Gujarat, from which drugs are distributed to Delhi, Punjab, Uttar Pradesh, Haryana, and other states.

So the narcotics are coming from Gujarat. Who manages the Mundra port? Their pal, Adani. “I do not want to accuse anyone, but this will ruin our children,” he stated.

Kejriwal confronted Shah, saying, “There is one person in this country who is responsible for controlling drug misuse. He is our Home Minister, Amit Shah. Despite his efforts, illegal substances are being distributed throughout the country. The drugs originate from Amit Shah’s home state, and the port owner is a close friend of his. So the narcotics are coming from Gujarat. Who manages the Mundra port? Their pal, Adani. “I do not want to accuse anyone, but this will ruin our children,” he stated.
