A 59-year-old man who played Kumbhakarna in a Ramlila performance in Delhi’s Malviya Nagar suffered a heart attack and died at 11 p.m. on Friday, police said on Saturday.

According to Ankit Chauhan, Deputy Commissioner of Police, South Delhi, the deceased, Vikram Taneja, a resident of Bhera Enclave in Pashchim Vihar, suffered a sudden chest ailment while performing as Kumbhakarna in Savitri Nagar Ramlila in Malviya Nagar. “He was initially transported to Akash Hospital before being sent to PSRI Hospital. “He was later declared dead by doctors during treatment,” the officer stated.

According to authorities, on October 12, PSRI Hospital made a control room call and informed the Malviya Nagar police station of Taneja’s death. The authorities also obtained testimony from the victim’s family members, who suspected no wrongdoing. A resident of Bhera Enclave in Pashchim Vihar developed a sudden chest ailment while acting as Kumbhakarna at Savitri Nagar Ramlila in Malviya Nagar. “He was initially taken to Akash Hospital before being transferred to PSRI Hospital. “He was later declared dead by doctors during treatment,” the officer explained. The authorities also obtained testimony from the victims.
