Officials stated on Sunday that the primary culprit was shot dead in an encounter with police in South Delhi’s Sangam Vihar neighborhood, one day after a Delhi Police policeman was stabbed to death. Kiran Pal, a 28-year-old policeman, was stabbed to death by three men while on a night patrol in Govindpuri on Friday. The cops established many teams and launched a major manhunt. Two of the attackers, Deepak Max (20) and Krish Gupta (18), were detained on Saturday, while the third, Raghav, is still at large.

Police traced Raghav down to a hideout in Sangam Vihar, where special police squads arrived late Saturday night. The accused was ordered to surrender, but he opened fire on the officers, who replied in self-defense and injured him, according to officials.

He was promptly transferred to a nearby hospital and died. Police believe the suspects were drug users who committed little crimes.

According to the authorities, one of the men then pulled out a knife and stabbed Pal. Officers from a nearby booth rushed Pal to Majidia Hospital, where he was found dead upon arrival. He had received deadly stab wounds to the chest and abdomen.

Pal is originally from Bulandshahr, Uttar Pradesh.

He joined the Delhi Police as a constable in 2018 and was first assigned to the Kishan Garh Police Station. In July of this year, he was transferred to the Govindpuri police station.
